What is Kids at Heart?: Kids at Heart is a volunteer organization club with a determination to help underprivileged children in educational and medical contexts. Compromised largely of fundraising and volunteering, Kids at Heart aims to provide service and monetary donations to elementary/middle school aged children, specifically surrounding College Park.

Purpose: Kids At Heart is a service group founded on mutual interest in helping children in Maryland with education and healthcare. This group was founded by a group of academically driven students who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves and help make a difference.

How We Plan to Help:

• Tutoring and homework help sessions

• Fundraising money for kids’ health needs

• Educational presentations at schools

• Volunteering at hospitals and schools 

What Membership Will Look Like:

• Kids at Heart is a BRAND-NEW organization, approved mid-semester Spring 2021

• Minimal membership requirements

• Participate in school supply drives, tutoring sessions, fundraising events, and spreading the word about our club!

• Members with motivation, passion, and ideas are highly encouraged to join!

• Pay attention to the GroupMe for events and announcements

Member Requirements:

• 2.0 GPA 

  • If a member fails to meet this, they will be on academic probation for one semester, followed by being removed from the club if their GPA still does not meet the requirement after 1 semester

• Point system

  • Each member needs 10 total points, 4 must be from attending biweekly meetings (max 5 points from attending meetings)

• Biweekly meetings, Thursdays at 6 on zoom
